Mary Jane Stone Baliles

Her Descendants

Mary Jane Stone was the daughter of Tandy and Jane Stone, b. 1835 in the Bowens Creek section of what was then part of Patrick County, Virginia..  Her mother, Jane (?), my g-g-grandmother, was full blood Cherokee, the clan is believed to have been the Bird Clan but I have no verification of that.  The memories of a small child are all that I have.  Tandy and Jane’s children were:

Martha Ann Stone, Gregory Landiss Stone, Mary Jane Stone, and Andrew Jackson Stone

 

Mary Jane Stone married Barnabus A. Baliles, the son of Barnaby Baliles and Milly Reynolds, 2 Feb 1854 in Henry County, Virginia.  They had the following children:

Jesse Allen Baliles, Virginia Baliles, Barny Reid Baliles, Nancy Ida Baliles, Mary E. Baliles, Louanna Baliles (my grandmother), Pinkney Baliles, Lucy Jane Baliles, Emma Baliles, and John Baliles.

Louanna Baliles, b. 26 May 1866 in Henry County, married Abram F. Robertson,  19 Sep 1895 in Patrick County.  She died 12 Feb 1943.  Her children:

Gertie Mae Robertson, Daisy Ethel Robertson, Rosa Agnes Robertson (my mother), and Charles Emmet Robertson

Rosa Agnes Robertson, b. 20 June 1905 in Patrick County, d. 26 Feb 1983.  She m. Willie Bryan Bateman 16 Aug 1923.

Her children:

Lucille Agnes Bateman, Eunice Mae Bateman, Jack Edward Bateman, and Marie Virginia Bateman.
